Boren Construction’s focus is building high end custom and luxury homes on Whidbey Island, as well as taking on select architecturally significant renovation projects. Our expertise and project approach ensures a process by which every detail is considered throughout the project. Our staff consists of construction project management and supervisory professionals, as well as supportive office and on-site staff. We work with an extensive network of subcontractors and suppliers throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond, and through this network are capable of meeting project requirements.

Professional Communicators

Building a custom home, estate or significant renovation project requires a tremendous amount of communication between the client, architect and builder. There are countless decisions to be made, and they all have to be made in an appropriate timeframe to ensure the project schedule is met. In addition, clients need to know how decisions affect the budget.

Boren Construction uses a 24/7 accessible client portal to facilitate all communication throughout the process. Our clients have access to the budget, schedule, pending items requiring decisions (including dates by which decisions need to be made), daily progress photos, and all project files.

Boren Construction Team

LeRoy Boren, President

LeRoy Boren started Boren Construction in 2002. His vision was to build the most effective high end construction firm in the Pacific Northwest by implementing the best business structure, financial management processes, and best practices from a craftsmanship/ means and methods standpoint. LeRoy has a background as a skilled journeyman carpenter, and understands the needs of the Design Team and Owner, as well as the crews in the field. LeRoy oversees the Project Development/ Pre-Construction phase, Estimating, and Financial Management functions of the business.

Mark Otto, PMP, Production Manager

Mark has been in the industry for 40 years, and during that time he has directly managed or supervised $250,000,000 of installed construction in industries ranging from residential, commercial, industrial, multifamily, and hospitality. Mark oversees Production as Senior Project Manager, and is the main contact for the design team and clients. Mark is a Project Management Institute certified Project Management Professional. Travis Watt, Senior Superintendent

Travis’ approach to leadership in the field can be summed up in his own words, “We are set up for success”. Travis believes in approaching problem solving systematically, and ensuring that the constructors in the field have the proper conditions and information to ensure their success, which results in project success.

Amy Erickson, Selections Coordinator

Amy works closely with the Senior Project Manager and the Design Team/ Owner and is responsible for managing the submittal & client selection process. She delivers the final version of “truth” to the Senior Superintendent to enable the field crews to be effective. She also has an educational and applied background in interior design, and is available to our clients and design professionals on an as-needed basis.

Karen Walker, Office Manager

Karen has been in construction office management for the past 23 years and uses this vast knowledge of the construction process to manage the office for Boren Construction. She is responsible for processing payroll, general AP/AR, and subcontractor compliance. Along with these duties, Karen offers general team support to the other team members to ensure success project completion.

Ross Richardson, Assistant Estimator

Ross has worked with Boren Construction for the past eight years, providing accurate material quantity takeoffs for our projects, and establishing units used in our control estimates. His efforts are an effective part of both the pre-construction team as well as facilitating the PM process.

Sandy Gavac, Accountant

Sandy provides impartial financial oversight in both internal and external reporting. She reviews and verifies all project related financial transactions, manages the verification of subcontractor compliance, and manages all taxing authority transactions.

Felipe Gutierrez, Staff Carpenter

Felipe is an accomplished journeyman carpenter.  Felipe supports our projects by effecting changed work, ensuring a clean and safe job site, protecting installed construction, and completing punch list items.
