While my husband and I were very excited about building our forever home on Whidbey Island, I was full of anxiety as the whole process felt so overwhelming. My husband, a designer and artist, had always wanted to build and design his own home. I wasn’t so sure. But when we sat down with LeRoy Boren, all of those fears started melting away. I felt much calmer and knew immediately that this very personable, knowledgeable and professional man and his team could gently and confidently lead us through every step of the way. And they did. Not only has the work been of the utmost quality which was extremely important to us to get everything just right, equally important has been their honestly, transparency and accessibility. And if we ran into any issues, they would find a great solution that fit perfectly with the design intent. We are so fortunate to have found them as we are now living in our beautiful home which was not so long ago just a dream.

I said from the start I had to stay within my budget and he did, but not by cutting corners on quality choices. When I was unsure he recommended choices and had an eye for the aesthetics of the project. LeRoy takes great pride in his work, and for very good reason.

LeRoy shows an ability to interact comfortably with clients, putting them at ease and promoting them to give input. He has demonstrated a capacity to work with architects and engineers, discussing the issues in technical language, providing valuable suggestions and recommendations and converting those discussions into effective results.

LeRoy was able to show us step by step how he was going to communicate with us and how we could have real-time updates on selections, budget, materials all through his interactive software (co-construct). That attention means no cost overruns for us, no unnecessary change orders and completing our home on time.

Every step of the way seemed to move along effortlessly even on the rare occasion something wasn’t quite right. From choosing appliances, floors, and paints to septic design and concrete drives there was never a moment when either by phone, email or the Boren website that we didn’t know where our project was regarding budget or completion date. LeRoy’s ability to effectively communicate and listen, his exacting standards, craftsmanship and commitment to detail along with a great crew of subcontractors and office staff made our build exciting and stress free.
